India's JNPT to set up two more terminals

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is developing two new terminals as part of its business expansion plan.
The business plan has been prepared on the directions of the ministry of shipping, minister of shipping G K Vasan.
The port is currently developing a fourth container terminal, at an estimated cost of US$1.5 million, he said, adding that Phase-I of the terminal is tentatively scheduled to be started in December 2010 and completed by December 2013.
Phase-II is scheduled to commence in December 2013 and slated for completion in December 2015.
JNPT has also undertaken another project for the development of a standalone container terminal with a quay length of 330 metres on the northern end of the port.
