China CFI up 0.2% in a week, to 1135.71 pts

China’s composite index of the cost of the freight container cargoes (China Containerized Freight Index) has gained from March 5th to March 12th this year 1.67%, to 1135.71 points. The European sector index fell by 0.36%, on the Mediterranean service - a 0.54% drop, the Ministry of Transport of China statement said.

The Containerized Freight Index reflects the dynamics of the freight prices on the export container shipments from China to 11 destinations (services), by 16 international shipping companies: CMA-CGM, COSCO Container Lines, China Shipping Container Lines, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Kline, Maersk, MOL, NYK, OOCL, P & O Nedlloyd, PIL, Shanghai Hai Hua Shipping, Shanghai Jin Jiang Shipping, Sinotrans Container Lines and SITC Container Lines. The index is calculated separately for each of the services, and in general (composite index).
