LPG and oil cargo handling facility to be built in the port of Taman

TamanNefteGaz CJS is building the first phase of LPG and oil cargoes at the port of Taman of projected capacity of up to 10.5 million tons a year, the Krasnodar Territory Administration press-service said. The handling facility is expected to be launched within several months.

In the coming years a big transportation hub will be built on the territory of Temryuk district capable of catching up with the volumes transshipped by the port of Novorossiysk. The construction of port of Taman has started in the Cape of Iron Horn in 2004. An official opening ceremony of the port of Taman has been held just a year ago. Three major investors, TogliattiAzot Corp., TamanNefteGaz CJSC and Food Ingredients LLC of EFKO Group have been implementing their projects. Food Ingredients has launched the first phase of the complex for annual transshipment of 500.000 tons of fat, edible oil and wine materials. The Company plans to build a grain handling facility of annual capacity of 8.6 million tons.
