TransContainer OJSC continues to develop multimodal transportation of goods in its own specialized containers using a cross-cutting stakes. The first shipment of four specialized meal feeding laden containers was carried today from the Kaliningrad region, PortNews IAA reports citing the company’s press-service.
The cargo producer and shipper is Sodrugestvo-Soya of Sodrugestvo Group of companies. Specialists of the TransContainer’s Moscow railway, jointly with representatives of the consignee (Nestle) VSF Logistic, mapped out a multimodal supply chain scheme, providing for switching freight from road to railway. The cargo shipment includes the Baltiisk - Ust-Luga ferry to the container terminal of TransContainer at Kuntsevo-2 railyard and trucking to the consignee’s doorstep.
TransContainer said it would be providing such the goods shipments service in its own specialized containers on a regular basis.
