The report for January-February shows freight traffic via the ports of Latvia shrank by 7.7%, to 10.165 million tons. The volume of cargoes handling, particularly at the port of Ventspils decreased by 10.6%, to 4.655 million tons, at Riga port, down 7.7%, to 4.629 million tons, while Port of Liepaja gained 18%, to 708.200 tons.
Transshipment of coal declined by 27.8%, to 2.533 million tons, of oil products, by 18.1%, to 3.815 million tons, as volumes of Ro-Ro cargoes rose by 8.3%, to 18.814 units and timbers increased by 67.1%, to 732.200 tons.
