Turnover of port of Singapore to increase by 18% to 4.5 mln TEUs in Jan-Feb 2010

According to the preliminary data turnover of port of Singapore in January-February 2010 increased by 18% as of the same period of 2009 - up to 4 million 515.5 thousand TEUs. As it is specified in the materials of  Port Authority, there was 17.9% year-over-year increase in container capacity in February 2010, and 6.4% year-over-year drop in January 2010 - up to 2 million 183.2 thousand TEUs.

According to preliminary figures total port throughput in January-February,2010 grew by 7.6% compared with the same period of last year - up 79.65 million tons. At the same time, the volume of transshipment of crude oil declined by 12.4% -- to 28.643 million tons

Singapore - a city-state located on an island in the South-East Asia. Port throughput for 2009 made up 472 million tons.
