The possibility of establishment of Russian-Finnish Business Council of big business representatives is considered. According to the press service of Russia, Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin, made such suggestion during a meeting with Tarja Halonen, President of Finland, and the Finnish business community.
"I suggest consider the establishment of Russian-Finnish Business Council. It could include representatives of big business in our countries. And among the main objectives of the Council I believe the top priority is the determination of strategic directions of business circles cooperation, and promoting the direct links between the interested companies" - said Vladimir Putin.
According to him, Russia is primarily interested in increasing of exports of products with a high degree of processing to Finland.
Vladimir Putin stated, in 2009 bilateral turnover of Russia and Finland decreased by almost half compared with the record figures in 2008.
