Norilsk streamlines its management structure

Norilsk Nickel MMC OJSC has made changes in its management structure. According to the press service of the enterprise, the changes have affected business unit, property and legal issues, the block of regional programs and social policy, the block of commodity-transport logistics and fuel and energy complex of the company.

The company abolished the post of Deputy Director General, the head of the unit of corporate, property and legal issues. The units will be managed by the Director-General (the Department of Investor Relations and Legal Department) and Deputy Director-General, the head of the unit for cooperation with the authorities, social and compensatory policies (Corporate Department).

Regional programs and social policies unit, has been transformed into the unit for interaction with the authorities, social and compensatory policies. A single Department of Logistics was formed within the unit of commodity-transport logistics. The management of the fuel and energy assets will now be carried out directly from Norilsk.

As a result of the optimization the main office staff should be reduced by 106 units (about 9% of total). According to Viacheslav Poltavtsev, the Deputy Director General, the head of the department for cooperation with the authorities and compensatory social policies the carried out restructuring is to make the work of the main office more efficient and management decisions more effective.
