The volume of loaded cargoes on the South-East Railroad (YVZD) in January-February 2010 rose by 17.5% from the same period in 2009, up to 11.37 million tons, the company’s press service said. In January-February 2010 freight turnover amounted to 13 billion 574 million ton / km, up 12% over numbers in January-February 2009.
In the past month the Railroad shipped 202.000 tons of industrial raw materials (a 83% gain to the plan), 130.000 tons of ferrous metals (+15%) and 620.000 tons of ore (+36%).
Russian Railways’ subsidiary, South-East Railroad carried last year 79.8 million tons of cargo. It’s operational length is 4 189 km.
