Vladivostok Commercial Seaport (CPV JSC ) handled the first shipment of imported oversized sheet steel (strip) of a total weight of 814.14 tons, the CPV press service said quoting Sergei Lopunov, the CPV production director. The strip manufactured in South Korea is designed for the production of large diameter pipes (LDP).
Sergei Lopunov noted the handling operation was complicated as the non-standard sized still sheets needed special lifting equipment, two gantry cranes. The off-loading operation took about 7 hours.
Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port OJSC maintains and manages the assets of Vladivostok seaport, one of the largest seaports in the Far East of Russia. CPV operates 17 berths, including the specialized ones - container, passenger, and automobile. CPV OJSC is part of the FESCO transport group. Last year’s throughput of the stevedoring company rose by 4.9% year-over-year, to 6 million 205.1 thousand tons.
