The terminal is expected to draw private investors. Otherwise the country’s govt. is ready to fund the project, as the terminal will guarantee Lithuania's energy security. Currently Russia is the only gas exporter to the country, Mr. Sekmokas said, adding Lithuania pays for imported gas a lot more than any other European country.
Arvydas Sekmokas said that the small terminal worth €620-670 million can be built within 2-3 years.
