Arkhangelsk posts for 2009 a 21.953-b ruble net loss, against profit a year earlier

Last year’s net loss of Arkhangelsk Commercial Seaport (ACSP OJSC, ArkhMorTorgPort OJSC) to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) reached 21.953 billion rubles against $23.859 billion rubles in 2008, the company’s statement said. The financial results were thanks to a reduction in cargo handled volumes, moorage and towing operations.

In 2009 freight turnover at Arkhangelsk amounted to 1.345.900 tons, a 23.7% drop year-over-year.

Arkhangelsk Commercial Seaport is a diversified stevedore company operating at the port of Arkhangelsk. It specializes in transshipment of general cargoes, cellulose, cardboard, containers, timber, metals, fertilizers, heavy equipment and bulked cargoes. The ACSP facilities allow transshipment of 4.5 million tons of cargoes a year.
