Ventspils Terminal handles ro-ro ships laden with grain harvesters for Russia

Noord Nattie Ventspils Terminal (Latvia) handles ro-ro ships carrying 150 grain harvesters to be delivered to the customer in Naberezhnye Chelny (Tatarstan, Russia). The first consignment, 48 grain harvesters, has already been delivered by Ro-ro Sein Highway of KESS Company to the terminal on March 25, the press service of the company said citing Sergei Goncharov, the Board Chairman of Noord Nattie Ventspils Terminal.

"We’ve been in talks on further cooperation with KL Shipping, K-Line’s parent company in Latvia, considering the possibility of a permanent long-term service for handling ro-ro commodities at the port of Ventspils" Mr. Goncharov was quoted as saying.

The company official said they expected an increase in freight traffic in the Baltic Sea region.

KESS shipping company ships call at the ports of Antverp / Zeebruge, Gdansk / Gdynia. The ship calls at Ventspils will give a good chance to both sides to find potential customers in other European regions, NNVT official said.

Noord Nattie Ventspils Terminal is one of the largest terminals of the Baltic region, providing services for transshipment and storage of general cargoes, ro-ro cargoes and containers. NNVT has been successful in handling ferry cargoes - vehicles, equipment, bulky and heavy cargoes, without limits on the size and weight.
