The ports of Estonia handled 34.1 million tons of cargo in 10M06
The ports of Estonia handled 34.085 million tons of cargo in January-October 2006, (+47% against year on year result), Sven Rattasepp, head of PR department of Tallinn port reported according to RZD-Partner. The result is attributed mainly to transshipment of coal cargoes. Sven Rattasepp attributes the growth to active operation of new coal terminal - Muuga Coal Terminal. Transhipment of coal totalled 6 million tons in the reported period. In October, Estonian ports handled 4.15 million tons of cargo.
