Russia-Poland Committee to discuss cooperation in transport sphere

The issues of cooperation in transport sphere will be discussed in Svetlogorsk by the members of Russia-Poland Committee, press service of regional government reports according to RIA Novosti. The seventh meeting of Russia-Poland permanent transport committee has been open in Svetlogorsk today under the chairmanship of Russian and Polish deputy ministers of transport – Alexander Misharin and Boguslav Kovalsky. The work is to last for two days. The members of the committee will discuss a number of issues including container transportation from the Far East to the Western Europe by wide-track railway with the use of logistics center in Slavkov (Poland), preparatory work on concluding inter-parliamentary agreement on border railway links, draft project on cooperation in pollution respond and prevention in the Baltic sea and Vislinsky (Kaliningrad) Bay.  Besides, it is planned to discuss perspective navigation in Vislinsky (Kaliningrad) Bay, opening of a cargo-and-passenger ferry link between the ports of Gdansk, Elblong and Baltyjsk. The parties will also discuss modernization of Elblong-Kaliningrad way and modernization of railway check-points Branevo, Mamontovo, and Scandava-Zheleznodorozhny.  Within the framework of the meeting it is planned to visit Baltyjsk and ferry terminals at the basins No3 and No4.
