Odessa shipbuilding plant to join Odessa Commercial Seaport

State-owned company Odessa shipbuilding plant (Ukraine) will be reorganized through joining another state-owned company Odessa Commercial Seaport, RBC-Ukraine reports according to the order on adopted by the Cabinet of the Ministries of Ukraine No571-р dated 16.11.2006. The decision is to be coordinated with the Ministry of Transport and Communications. In September 2006 Ukrainian State Property Fund announced that four plants including Odessa shipyard shall be transferred to the state property in 2007. The property of the yard is said to be costing $25 million. The plant specializes in repair of screws, rudders, shaft-lines, outboard-fittings, major and auxiliary engines, production and repair of fuel equipment, cleaning and painting of vessel hulls. Repair facilities of the yard include 3 docks capable of accepting vessels over 200 meters long.
