Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. , South Korea's second-largest shipyard, said Tuesday it has signed a US$230 million order to build two container ships.
The deal with Singapore's Neptune Orient Lines (NOL, SGX:N03), the world's fifth-largest container shipping company, calls for Daewoo Shipbuilding to deliver the ships by the end of 2012, the shipbuilder said in a statement.
