Sea Port St. Petersburg handles a 173-ton shaft for Hyundai

 

 

The First Stevedoring Company (FSC, of Sea Port of St. Petersburg Group) jointly with the specialists of Universal Freight Forwarder Llc. has transshipped the shaft weighing 173 tons for the Hyundai factory, the Sea Port St. Petersburg JSC press service said.

The cargo was carried by railroad from Kharkov (Ukraine) to the 23rd berth of FSC and transported to the pier №40 by the floating crane Hercules, intended for handling of heavy cargoes up to 300 tons. Then the cargo was loaded onto the Capitan Lus ship, which hold was equipped with mounted I-beams to distribute the weight of the shaft. Upon completion of the loading operation the ship headed for Rotterdam for onward transportation to its destination.
