Russia to supply to the APR 50m tons of crude via ESPO, Vladimir Putin

Russia will supply the Asia-Pacific Region (ASR) 50 million tons of crude oil through the Eastern pipeline system (ESPO), which has access to the Pacific coast, the government's press office reports, quoting Prime Minister Vladimir Putin who was speaking today during the opening of the Russian part of Russia-China pipeline.
According to Mr. Putin, the launch of the pipeline part Russian will be able to supply to the Asia-Pacific Region 30 million tons of crude oil, and 50 million after the expansion of ESPO. At the same time, Russia exports to Europe about 120-130 million tons of oil annually.
 
"Implementation of this project is the important job as well for our Chinese friends, as for Russia. For China, this means stabilization and balance in energy resources supplies. For us, it an access to new and promising markets in the Asia-Pacific Region and, in this case, a very promising and dynamically developing market of Republic of China", Vladimir Putin was quoted as saying.
 
The Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean (ESPO), being under construction, is the oil pipeline that would connect the oil fields of Western and Eastern Siberia to the ports of Primorsky Territory in Russia and provide access to the markets of the U.S.A. and Asia-Pacific region. The total projected length of the pipeline is 4188 km. The operator of the pipeline is the state-run Transneft company. The crude brand supplied to world markets through the pipeline, is known as ESPO.
 
The first phase of the project (ESPO-1) was launched on December 28, 2009, pipeline from Taishet (Irkutsk Region) to Skovorodino (Amur Region) of total length of 2694 km. Then, 15 million tons of crude oil will be transported by rail to oil port of Kozmino (Primorye), the end point of the pipeline. Besides, 15 million tons a year will be delivered to China through a branch line of the Eastern oil pipeline in the vicinity of Skovorodino
