French court has fined state-owned Lithuanian shipping company Lietuvos juru laivininkyste (LJL) for EUR 230 thou for polluting French waters with oil products, RZD-Partner reports. The fine is to be paid by Ingosstrakh insurance company, which insured the Kapitonas Kaminskas vessel against risk factors. In October 2004 the vessel was detained by French border guard having accused the ship in the sea pollution. 7-kilometer long and 150-meter wide oil spot was found close to Kaminskas. The Ministry of Communications and Transport holds 56.66% of LJL shares, 10% of the shares are owned by the Lithuanian Fund of State Property.
