The Russian government has allowed the export of grain in some exceptional cases. As the government statement said, a ban on the export of grain does not apply to several cases where it is exported as stores in accordance with the laws of the Customs Union within the framework of international treaties of Russia, to Kaliningrad Region, and vice versa, in order to use by the diplomatic missions of Russia abroad, for Russian military units deployed abroad, for the Russian organizations in Baikonur, for the activities of Russian ships or chartered vessels by Russians, fishing beyond the Russia’s territorial waters, for the organizations on the Spitsbergen archipelago, to eliminate the consequences of accidents and disasters, including international humanitarian relief programs, as well as for official use.
Earlier, Russian Government imposed a temporary ban on grain exports until the end of 2010 due to reduced yield caused by drought.
