Svcomflot’s tanker gets damages at Singapore Port, hit by another ship

The tanker Laptev Sea owned by Sovcomflot Group was damaged after she collided with a ship at the port of Singapore, the Company press service said. The incident occurred while the Laptev Sea was heading for anchorage after she was charged.

A small cargo ship PWP 1, following alongside of the tanker, made a violent maneuver, and her bow hit the tanker’s port side, causing damages in the Laptev Sea’s hull, in a ballast tank N2 area.

No one of the crew members was reported injured, no oil leak happened.

The Laptev Sea’s master notified about the incident the Port Authority and other interested parties, and anchored for inspection of damage. It is assumed that the repair of damage will be made at the port of Singapore.

The 47,431DWT Laptev Sea tanker was built in 1998 at BRODOSPLIT SHIPYARD (Croatia).
