Eight-month volume of exported crude oil and petroleum products passing through the port of Primorsk (Leningrad Region) totaled 51.7 million tons, a slight decrease from the same period of 2009. Exports of crude oil fell 3.6%, to 47.8 million tons, while petroleum products exports rose by 49% to 3.88 million tons, the Harbormaster statistics said.
In August, the volume of crude oil transshipment amounted to about 6.1 million tons.
Primorsk Commercial Sea Port is the largest Russian North-West hub for exports of oil and petroleum products. The Port’s throughput in 2009 was reported at 79.157.2 tons of oil and diesel fuel. Last year there were 1.869 ship calls (935 inbound, 934 outbound vessels).
