In August this year 1,357,900 tons of cargo passed through the Vostochny Port’s terminals, or an 8-percent turnover drop from last year’s August.
The Vostochny Port’s Specialized Coal Complex (PPK-3) handled in Jan-Aug. 8,141,100 tons of coal, which is 2 percent down from last year’s figures. In August, the complex transshipped 1,028,300 tons of coal, a 18-percent decline y-o-y.
In Jan-Aug, 1,823,700 tons of various cargoes were handled at the Universal Production and Handling Facility (PPK-1), or 20% up from the same period in 2009. In August, PPK-1’s throughput rose by 43% from last year’s August, to 329.600 tons of cargo.

Vostochny Port OJSC is the largest stevedoring company in the Russia’s Far East. The company specializes in transshipment of coal using the conveyor equipment. The Vostochny Port’s assets include Specialized Coal Complex and Universal Production and Handling Facility intended for handling general and bulk cargoes (coal, coke, clinker, iron ore, timber, etc.). The stevedore is capable to handle metals, pulp, aluminum, chemical, long-sized and heavy cargoes. Last year, Vostochny Port’s throughput fell 3% to 14.585.800 tons.
