Odfjell has cancelled three out of six chemical tankers it ordered at Chongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding Industry, China (CCSIC) at the beginning of 2008. The Norwegian shipowner contracted for six, 9,000 dwt chemical tankers at CCSIC for delivery between the fourth quarter of this year and first quarter 2012. Odfjell and the yard have agreed the cancellation of three of the vessels with the shipowner receiving $30m. The three remaining vessels are now expected to be delivered between December 2011 and April 2012.
