Maersk closes in on $4bn shipbuilding deal with Daewoo

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has been selected by Denmark's A.P. Moller - Maersk Group as a preferred bidder for a huge $4bn containership newbuilding project. ?Maersk Line has picked Daewoo for negotiation on the 20 series of 18,000 teu newbuildings including ten optional units. They would be largest boxships ever built. ?A letter of intent could be signed before the end of the year.
