KSCP’s cargo throughput soars 1,3 times to over 3m tons
Throughput of Kaliningrad port’s operator JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port increased in the calendar year 2010 by 1,4 times year-over-year, to 3,064,700 tons, the Kaliningrad Port Authority statistics said.
Exports volume handled in the reporting period by the stevedore jumped by 1.38 times to 2,222,500 tons. The volume includes 449,100 tons of exported petroleum products (+3%), 1,242,000 tons of ferrous metals (+70%), 200,400 tons of coal and coke (+16.6%). Imports surged by 46% y-o-y to 842,200 tons.
In December, 2010 KSCP transshipped 212,300 tons of cargo, 9.1% more than a year earlier.
JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is a stevedore company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad, which is a hub for almost all types of transport and major export-import freight flows passing through the region. In 2009 the KSCP’s cargo throughput totaled 2,186,100 tons.
