Kontur commissions bunker tanker Captain Shiryaev

St. Petersburg-based Kontur LLC has put into service a double-hulled tanker Captain Shiryaev (IMO 8414489), the company press service said. Today the Russian flage was raised at the tanker. The vessel’s new home port is Saint-Petersburg.

The ship, built to the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, has the following specifications: length overall - 75.59 m, beam - 14,5 m, depth - 7,7 m, the shipload – 2,570 tons. The formerly Balize-flagged vessel was built in 1986 in Norway. In 2007, the vessel underwent a complete overhaul and is now fully complies with international conventions of MARPOL.

According to Kontur General Director Stanislav Korneev, with the new bunker ship the company may substantially increase the quality of services and gain ground in Big Port St. Petersburg and in the ports of the eastern Gulf of Finland. The vessel will start operating in the next 10 days.

Kontur LLC is part of group of companies Kontur, comprising Baltic Fuel Company Ltd , JSC MBC, LLC Kontur St. Pb, LLC Kontur Transport Company, CJSC Perspektiva. The Group’s enterprises are key suppliers of bunker fuel to Russian and foreign vessels in the waters of the Neva River and the Gulf of Finland, and Port of St. Petersburg.
 
In 2010, sales volume of Kontur LLC reached more than 300,000 tons of petroleum products, about 35% of sales - low sulfur content products. In 2010 the company operated 24 vessels with a total capacity of 24,000 tons. The company plans to increase its fleet to 30 vessels this year.
