Yeysk Sea Port’s cargo volume slumps 42% to 54,590 tons

Cargo throughput of Yeysk Sea Port in February 2011 shrank by 41.9% compared with the same period of 2010 to 54,590 tons, the stevedore company’s statistics said. The decline was primarily due to Russian grain exports ban, which came into effect last year, the company said.

However, Yeysk Sea Port demonstrated in February a 1.6 times growth in the segment of export coal, 52,570 tons. This year the stevedore company started transshipment of diesel fuel - 585.6 tons in February. Last year, Yeysk port’s Feb. volume of wheat exports reached 47,300 tons and about 6.4 tons of corn. This year, the stevedoring company shipped just small quantities of wheat bran.
