Gazprom, Moller-Maersk Group focus on cooperation projects

Gazprom's Deputy Chairman of the Company's Management Committee Alexander Ananenkov and A. P. Moller-Maersk Group Vice President Klaus Rud Sejling met today to discuss future cooperation between the two giants to ensure year-round well drilling in northern offshore fields, Gazprom press release said.

The companies' top managers decided to establish joint task group to work out the cooperation in this field.

Besides, the two parties noted that Russian shipbuilding companies should be engaged in manufacturing special machinery and equipment to enable year-round well construction in the Arctic.

Gazprom, the major Russian company founded in 1989, is the largest global producer of natural gas. The Russian Government holds a controlling stake in Gazprom. Gazprom's core business directions are geological exploration, production, transportation, storage, processing and marketing of hydrocarbons as well as generation and marketing of heat and electric power.

The A.P. Moller - Maersk Group incorporates scores of shipping, offshore and terminal assets, etc . worldwide. The Group currently operates in 130 countries, employing 115,000 people. The Group owns one of the world’s largest shipping companies Maersk Line and is engaged in a wide range of activities in the energy, logistics, retail and manufacturing industries.
