John Fredriksen’s Seadrill has ordered a pair of tender rigs from Cosco (Nantong) for $130m. The two drilling units are due to be delivered in the first and third quarters of 2013. The contracts are worth $130m excluding owner furnished equipment. “The two rigs when completed will be equipped with enhanced drilling capabilities allowing for higher drilling efficiency including the advantage of a light weight drilling equipment set,” Cosco said.
