Hanjin Shipping to rise rates on Asia-Europe and Transatlantic services from 1 April

Hanjin Shipping has announced Thursday a rate increase plan for Asia-Europe and Transatlantic trades from 1 April 2011. “In line with our earlier announcement on rate restoration for the year 2011, it is inevitable for us to proceed with the plan in the midst of increasing operation costs,” the South Korea-based liner said.
The rates for its Far East to North Europe/Mediterranean will be increased by $200 per teu and $400 per feu, rates for Japan to North Europe will be upped by $300 per teu and $600 per feu, rates for Southeast Asia to North Europe/Mediterranean will be increased by $200 per teu and $400 per feu. More rate hikes for its North Europe/Mediterranean to Far East/South East/IPBC/Middle East/Australia will be $100 for both per teu and per feu.
