TTS Marine to equip four car carriers

Swedish manufacturer TTS Marine contracted to build and install roll-on, roll-off equipment to provide cargo access for four car carriers, Journal of Commerce reports.
 
A contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries provides for delivery of quarter and side ramps, internal ramps and covers including hydraulic and electric systems to two newbuildings. The vessels are 6,500-unit pure car and truck carriers ordered by Glovis, a logistic company in the Hyundai Group. The equipment has a gross weight of about 615 metric tons per vessel. The vessels will be delivered to Glovis by January and March 2012.
 
The contract with Mitsubishi Nagasaki yard provides for delivery of quarter and side ramps, internal ramps and covers with hydraulic and electric systems for two car carriers ordered by Wilhelmsen and Wallenius for service within the WWL network. The vessels are 6,400-unit PCTC vessels. The total weight of the delivery is about 635 metric tons per vessel and the delivery includes complete equipment and supervision of installation. The vessels are due for delivery to the owner by August and November 2012.
