Dozens of vessels trapped in ice in the Gulf of Bothnia

There are about 60 vessels stuck in the ice of the northern Gulf of Bothnia, the Finnish radio Yle reported. On Thursday strong winds contributed to the severe weather and ice situation.

Deliveries to the northern Finland are delayed by about a week, while the regional enterprises’ stock runs low. If the situation does not change for the better in the coming days, the businesses in the north of the republic will probably have to reduce the production as early as next week.
