Container traffic at Kronstadt-based LLC Moby Dick Terminal (part of Global Ports) in January-February 2011 soared 55% from the same period a year earlier, to 25,700 TEUs, PortNews reports citing the Global Port’s press service.
In February, monthly volume of containers handled at the terminal was 13,700 TEUs, a 47-percent increase year-over-year, in January - 11,900 TEUs.
Moby Dick’s ferry handling terminal is located on the island Kotlin in close proximity to St. Petersburg. The company specializes in handling containerized cargo. There is a border crossing checkpoint “Litke Base, Kotlin Island" of the Baltic Customs "Kronstadt" at the terminal.
