FCS to OK ship clearance regulations in the Customs Union

Federal Customs Service (FCS of Russia) has prepared a draft order approving the Regulations of customs clearance of merchant vessels, goods and vehicles carried across the customs border of the Customs Union. The document was posted on the agency’s official website on March 10th.

When approved the new order makes the former order of the Russian Federal Customs Committee void, which had been effective since 2001.

The order approves the proposed procedure of customs control and clearance of merchant vessels passing through the Customs Union territory, the procedure of customs operations during unloading of goods and vehicles from ships and temporarily storage of the goods prior to customs clearance. The new order provides for procedures of customs clearance of vessels crossing the state border of Russian and carrying passengers, vehicles and goods on regular services, as well as the procedure of electronic submissions of the customs documents.
