According to information obtained by PortNews, the new coal terminal’s projected capacity could be up to 10 million tons of coal a year. The terminal construction is expected to begin in late 2011 – early 2012. The project implementation period - about 4 years.
Rosterminalugol (Kuzbasrazrezugol holding) is currently operating the coal terminal, the first one launched at the port of Ust-Luga, which handled 7,5 million tons in 2010.
"Actually, all the major shippers are now at the port of Ust-Luga,” Sergey Ivanov said.
