Albert Vygovsky took over the office Managing Director of OJSC North-West Shipping Company (NWSC) as of March 15, 2011. The appointment has been confirmed by Mr. Vygovsky in an interview with PortNews. The former head of NWSC Konstantin Palnikov resigned.
Albert Vygovsky, is a graduate of the Institute of Water Transport Engineers (Nizhny Novgorod),majoring in organization and management of water transport. Later he was trained at Lloyd's Maritime Academy (UK). From 1995 through 2004 Mr. Vygovsky continued his carrier in Volga Shipping Company JSC, then in Volga-Baltic Logistics LLC. From 2008 and until recently he held the office of CEO of VBL. Albert Vygovsky, 39, is married and has two daughters.
North-West Shipping Company is a leading operator in Russia. The shipping company specializes in transportation of general cargo, bulk, suction cargo, grab cargo and towing oversized cargo. The company has a fleet of about 145 cargo ships of total deadweight of 550,000 tons, including 120 ships of mixed "river-sea" class, 4 barges, 12 tugboats and 8 auxiliary vessels. The annual volume of freight traffic makes up some 6 million tons.
