Sovfracht-Sovmortrans plans to order a series of vessels from USC shipyards

Sovfracht-Sovmortrans Group has been in talks with OJSC United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) to order a series of mixed class "river-sea" vessels, the Group’s CEO Dmitry Purim told RBC-TV channel.
"We want to book a series of river and sea-going vessels with USC, but we have not even approached as yet to understanding of the payback," Mr. Purim was quoted as saying.

Currently, Sovfracht-Sovmortrans owns one cargo ship. "We managed to sell our fleet before the crisis unfolded. Since then we have acquired only one vessel", said Dmitry Purim.

The group of companies Sovfracht-Sovmortrans was created on the basis of Sovfrakht that has been operating in the transport market since 1929.Today Sovfracht-Sovmortrans Groups develops a whole range of transport services. Sovfrakht specializes in transporting of general cargo, "Sovmortrans" – in container shipping. The Group’s assets include ports and terminals. Cargo volume moved by the Group in 2009 totaled 31 million tons and 57,000 TEUs. The Group’s Management Company Sovfrakht Ltd. is the sole executive board of CJSC Sovmortrans.
