Ice class restrictions for vessels calling at the Big Port St. Petersburg will be eased as of April 5, 2011 (00:00 MT), the Port Authority told PortNews.
After the date the restrictions will be applied only to the vessels not having an ice-class and those with propulsion rated power below 2,000hp.
Currently, the ice class restrictions effective at the Big port of St. Petersburg are applied to vessels whose ice class is below Ice2 (LU2, A3), and for ships with propulsion power rated below 3500 hp.
