Palmali Group commissions new 7,1DWT tanker

On March 30th, The Russian group of companies Palmali put into operation the  Captain Nagdaliev, the project RST22M second tanker, Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB) reports.

The 7,103dwt vessel designed by MEB was constructed at Besiktas Shipyard (Yalova, Turkey). The project vessels feature full-circle rudder propellers, the use of submersible pumps, enhanced trunk, etc.

The RST22M project ships dimensions: LOA - 139.95 m, breadth - 16.6 m, depth - 6 m. Six cargo and two slop tanks capacity - over 8,000cbm, DW in salt water at draft 4,6m  - 7,103 tons, DW in fresh water, draft 3,6m - 4706 tons, operational speed - 10.5 kn. The tanker is "Volga-Don max" class. The vessels fully comply with new international requirements for the carriage of vegetable oils.
 
The ships comply with special requirements of Russian and international oil companies, additional environmental class restrictions of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping ECO-S.
 
Overall, the Group’s newbuilds program for the 3rd Armada series includes 10 vessels (5 ordered, 5 in option). The first Armada series also included 10 tankers, the second - 5 ships.
 
Palmali Group is a shipping company operating in the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black Seas. Last year, shipments of oil cargo on Russia’s inland waterways by the Group’s fleet exceeded 4,5m tons. Palmali Group is a major carrier of oil companies SOCAR (Azerbaijan) and LUKOIL (Russia) on the southern lines. The Group has been awarded long-term contracts for transportation of petroleum products with TNK-BP. The Group operates a fleet of more than 100 vessels, including sea-going tankers of up to 180,000dwt and sea-going and river tankers of up to 8,000dwt tons flying Russia and foreign flags.
 
Marine Engineering Bureau is a non-governmental design and engineering firm recognized by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping Russian River Register and Register of Shipping Ukraine. The firm designed 14 new vessels commissioned in 2010, and 12, which were delivered to the customer after a major upgrade.
