  Muuga Terminal boxes volume up 22% to 74,480 TEUs

  

  Container traffic at Muuga Terminal in January - May 2011 increased by 22% compared with last year’s figures, to 74,480 TEUs, the Port Authority said.
  

  In May, the terminal handled 16,280 TEUs, up 39% from May, 2010. Five-month volume of transit containers totaled 18,353 TEUs.
  
  Muuga Harbor is part of AS Tallinna Sadam, the port of Tallinn. The berths’ depths allow handling all vessels that are able to pass the Danish Straits.
  

  Muuga Container Terminal Ltd is a stevedoring company operating at Estonia-based Muuga Harbor. The terminal’s annual capacity is 450,000 TEUs, expandable to 850,000 TEUs. The company has a workforce of 150 people. In 2010, MCT’s container throughput was 151,000 TEUs.
