Rosmorport to get a majority ownership in LenMorNIIProekt
Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia approved yesterday a deal of the federal enterprise Rosmorport to acquire a control stock in Lenmorniiproekt (St. Petersburg), making the state-run company the owner of a 80.21-percent stake in St. Pb-based company, a spokeswoman for Rosmorport told PortNews.
According to Irina Lobkova Rosmorport will get 28,636,050 of ordinary shares of Lenmorniiproekt.
At present, the stake makes up 71.62% of the total of ordinary shares in the company, After the redemption of part of its own shares by Lenmorniiproekt (according to the decisions of the company’s stockholders AGM in 2008 and 2009) the Rosmorport’s stake will be increased to 80,21%.
The spokeswoman added that Lenniiproekt is expected to offer the remaining 19.79% shares of its authorized capital for action.
From late 2005 and until recently Transbunker Group was the majority shareholder of Lenmorniiproekt.
To date Rosmorport has the country's largest port operating experience of hydraulic structures, is involved in the development of state programs and concepts of development of sea transport. The deal to purchase a large design institute, which specializes in the design of port facilities, will entail improving the quality of projects implemented in Russia for the construction and modernization of the infrastructure of seaports, according to Rosmorport.
Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosmorport was established in 2003. The company manages federal assets in the ports of Russia, including sea berths, and operates the world's largest icebreaker fleet of 26 diesel-electric icebreakers. The company has a workforce of more than 5,000 people in 16 Russia’s regions. Rosmorport’s activity is aimed at developing a strategy for maritime port infrastructure for a long term period.
JSC Lenmorniiproekt , founded in 1885, is now the first in Russia specialized governmental organization for the design of seaports. The company provides services in maritime, onshore and civil engineering, etc.
