Large-scale OSR exercises start at Vysotsk Oil Terminal
International exercises "Elimination of a tanker accident in the area of the oil terminal RPK-Vysotsk LUKOIL-II» began today, June 15, 2011 at 10:00 am (MT) at the Vyborg-based oil terminal Vysotsk, the PortNews correspondent reports.
Several Russian companies (RPK-Vysotsk, Ecoshelf Baltica, Baltic Tugs, Rosneftflot), emergency response teams of Primorsk port, Marine Ecology Ltd, BBERD, Lukoil-Bunker and a Finish vessel Seili are participating in the exercises. Overall, more than 20 specialized vessels are engaged in the drills.
The marine terminal RPK Vysotsk LUKOIL-II is owned by Russian oil giant LUKOIL. Bunkering operations are carried out by a LUKOIL’s subsidiary LUKOIL-Bunker. In 2010, exports of oil products via the terminal totaled 12.3 million tons versus 13.8 million tons a year earlier.
