Cargo turnover of the Southern Basin ports up 1.4% in 10M06

The ports of the Southern Basin handled 132.3 million tons of cargo in the 10-month period of 2006, which is 38% of total cargo turnover in Russian ports, press release of the Association of Commercial Seaports reads. Total cargo turnover of the region grew by 1.4%, which is 1.7 million tons in absolute figures. Transshipment of dry cargo grew by 2.4% to 39 million tons, transshipment of oil cargo grew by 0.9% to 93.2 million tons.
