FESCO to boost Ro-Ro capacity

A second-hand Ro-Ro the FESCO Ulad-Ude, ex the Baybridge Express, replenished FESCO fleet, FESCO press center reports.

The sale & purchase deal was accomplished on October 10, 2008 in Hong Kong. The vessel is classed NK, flag Panama, built in 1985 (Japan), capacity - 390 cars or 85 trucks up to 8 tons in weight, speed - 15,8 knots.

On October 11 the FESCO Ulan-Ude left Hong Kong for Shanghai. The vessel will be deployed on FESCO Ro-Ro Service between the ports of Japan, China, Korea and Far East of Russia.

FESCO Transport Group created on the basis of Far Eastern Shipping Company is one of the leading container operators in Russia. In 2007, the Group’s throughput exceeded 2.4 million TEU.

The deadweight of the Group’s fleet exceeds 1 million tonnes. The Group’s rolling stock numbers over 17,000 units. The Group’s port transshipment facilities have the capacity exceeding 1.6 million TEU.
