In the 10-month period the ports of Russia’s Far East region handled 57.4 million tons of cargo (-3.4% against year-on-year result), press release of the Association of Commercial Seaports reads. The share of the Far Eastern ports was over 16% of Russia’s consolidated cargo turnover. Transshipment of oil cargo exceeded 12.8 million tons (+3% or 0.39 in absolute figures). Transshipment of dry cargo decreased to 44.5 million tons (-2.4 million tons or -5% against year-on-year result). The highest decrease in tonnage was demonstrated by Vladivostok port – 2.5 million tons of dry cargo. The port of Nakhodka decreased transshipment of liquid bulk cargo by 1 million tons. The highest growth was demonstrated by stevedoring companies of the port of Vanino – 1.4 million tons of liquid bulk cargo.
