Baltiysky Zavod to deliver first batch of metal for Gazprom’s drilling platform in November

Baltiysky Zavod OJSC has commenced treatment of metal for construction of semi submersible drilling platform to be operated by Gazprom at Shtokman gas condensate field. According to the company’s press center, the first batch of metal will be delivered to the customer in November of the current year. The contract was signed by Baltiysky Zavod and Vyborg shipyard.

In 2007, the company manufactured large blocks for Varandei oil shipment terminal operated by LUKOIL. In August of the current year Baltiysky Zavod completed production of metal structures for floating semi submersible drilling platform MOSS CS50 which is to be operated by Switzerland-based company Sea Horse Venture Limited in the North Sea.

Baltiysky Zavod, JSC is one of the leading enterprises in the Russian shipbuilding industry (member of United Shipbuilding Corporation). Currently the Baltiysky Zavod shipyard specializes in construction of icebreakers and ice-classed vessels (with nuclear-powered propulsion, as well as conventionally powered), large commercial vessels for carrying various types of cargo, and naval ships. The company also manufactures a wide range of marine propulsion equipment and machinery for equipping ships built at the shipyard, as well as for supplying other yards. Baltiysky Zavod also manufactures heat exchanges for nuclear power plants and is a major producer of non-ferrous and core-mould castings.
