Maersk's Boomerang service starts Chiwan calls

Denmak's Maersk Line, which operates the world's largest container fleet, says its Boomerang service, which makes port calls in Asia and Australia, has began calling at Shenzhen's Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT).
This comes after the Maersk Duesseldorf berthed at CCT on October 12, signalling that the new Asia to Australia "pendulum loop" service is now making port of calls at CCT.
"Maersk Line creates this new service to allow for the optimal combination of efficiency through size and ability to operate at economical speeds," a statement from the carrier said.
The new Boomerang service launched at the end of September will call at CCT every Sunday, on the following port rotation of: Chiwan, Hong Kong, Kaosiung, Sydney, Melborne, Fremantle, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Fremantle, Melborne, Sydney, Brisbane, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Pusan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, returning to Chiwan.
Maersk Line deploys ten 4,300-TEU containerships on this service.
