SASCO to deploy another ship on Vladivostok-Korsakov line

Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO) plans to expand its fleet of MV Zeya and MV Tobol operating on Vladivostok-Korsakov line with additional vessel MV Mikhail Lukonin by the end of November 2011, the shipping company said.

The 6,221DWT Mikhail Lukonin, built in 1981, capacity of 5,500 tons is intended for transportation of containers and general cargo on SASCO’s short sea shipping lines. The company’s coastal fleet expansion will allow making calls at every ports twice a week.

OJSC Sakhalin Shipping Company is one of the largest shipping companies in Russia. SASCO operates a fleet of ice-class vessels capable of carrying a wide range of cargoes: containers, general cargo, equipment, suction and grab bulk cargo, timber and wood products. The company provides year-round transportation from the ports of De-Kastri, Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan.
